Christmas Trees Fresh Off the Farm (episode)
Joanna heads to Bare Creek Farm while they prepare for a busy season of Christmas tree shopping! Learn what it’s like to run a Christmas tree farm, including the challenges of hard work as well as the reward of providing a true family experience like no other during the most wonderful time of the year!
“For me, it has a lot to do with my past. I grew up on a farm. My mom and dad raised beef cattle. It was a great experience for my brother and I. We learned the value of hard work.
I have three children, and we didn’t necessarily want them to get into the beef industry. We thought the Christmas tree business with be a good thing for a kid because there is a lot of hard work involved in growing Christmas trees year round. I want my kids to value what hard work is and understand there is a pay off in the end, and it feels good at the end of the day when you’ve worked hard for something.
What’s funny is, when you’re walking through the trees, they all kind of run together because they all look so similar. But, they’re all good sized trees. Beautiful and full trees. It’s funny to watch people pick out a tree. About ten minutes they ask for help!”Share
